The WCL was established as an organization in 1934, modeled after The Isac Walton League. The first activities of the WCL was constructing fish rearing ponds, raising trout and small mouth bass. The WCL was a licensed fish hatchery by the WI Conservation Department. Pheasant chicks were reared and released by members of the WCL for many years.
Trap shooting was added to the activities of the League 1954. Trap shooting has been a favorite sport of members and their guests ever since. Many registered trap shoots and other trap shooting events have been held at the League. We now have 6 trap fields, and our Summer Trap League has had up to 30 five person teams participating.
Skeet shooting was first introduced in 1960, and one of the first WI State Skeet Shoot was hosted at the League. Many skeet shooting events have been held over the years, including registered skeet shoots, and a Summer Skeet League. We have 4 skeet fields available for members and guests to use.
